Opening in Richmond Early 2022: Hatch Local Food Hall

Richmond Food Hall

Richmond has a vibrant culinary scene, and that means we always have new restaurants to try! Food halls are growing in popularity across the country, and there's one expected to open in the downtown area very soon.

Our real estate agents have passed by the building many times on their way to and from our Richmond homes for sale. With its grand opening so close on the horizon, let's take a closer look at this promising new dining destination.

The Location

The Hatch Local Food Hall is currently being set up at 400 Hull Street in Richmond, VA. When it's complete, it will feature a coffee bar, a full-service bar, and a lively local market. There are also plans for a space for outdoor dining and events. Patrons will be able to reserve the space ahead of time for occasions like birthday parties or corporate gatherings.

The Vendors

The hall is set to host seven local food establishments at first, including:

  • Buttermilk + Honey by Mike Lindsey and Kimberley Love-Lindsey. This shop sells delectable fried chicken and southern sides. Their chicken sandwich is reported to be excellent, and they even offer gluten-free and vegan fried chicken options so everyone can enjoy their dishes.

  • Oro by Laine Myers. This establishment is run by an award-winning chef and serves multi-regional Italian foods with a local twist. Their dishes incorporate fresh noodles and seasonal vegetables to create a bright and enticing array of pasta dishes.

  • Sincero by Adam Bobadilla and Karen Negvesky. If you're hungry for some authentic Mexican cuisine, this restaurant is the place to go. Deliciously seasoned tacos, burritos, tostadas, and more are all on the menu here.

  • Royal Pig by Vanna Hem and Adam Stull. This restaurant highlights the rich aromatic flavors of Cambodian comfort food, serving market-friendly favorites like coconut curries and beef skewers.

  • Fat Kid Sandwiches by Jon Martin and Liz Clifford. Run by a couple with a passion for simple yet delicious dishes, this sandwich shop blends bar food staples with Italian and Southern influences to create an irresistible lunch menu.

  • Odyssey Fish by Lee Gregory. This small shop adds something new to the lineup with casual yet sustainable seafood dishes you're sure to love. The menu was prepared by the same team who created the food at Alewife, a top local restaurant recently named Southern-Living's "Best Restaurant of the South" in 2020.

  • The Beet Box by Ashley Lewis and Antione Meredith. A great stop for the health-conscious, this hip juice bar serves natural high-nutrition options like smoothie bowls, fresh-pressed juice, and gourmet toast.

Coming Soon

Hatch Local Food Hall is currently set to open in early 2022. When it does, it will operate every week between Wednesday and Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM. For now, you can observe their progress and check out some of the delicious dishes that will be available on the hall's Instagram page. RVA Neighborhood Guide for 2022

RVA Neighborhoods

Our real estate agents know buying a home isn't just about a home. It's about choosing a neighborhood. Picking the right one means entering the living history of a place you'll be proud to call home. When it comes to Richmond homes for sale, there truly are no wrong answers. Each of the six major communities throughout the Richmond Virginia Area ("RVA") has its own character and storied history.

Getting ready to move to the RVA in 2022? It can be tough to wrap your head around the options, so get started with our 2022 RVA Neighborhood Guide. Here, you'll get the facts you need to start exploring your favorite part of the RVA in earnest.

The RVA's unique neighborhoods include:

  • Hanover
Hanover is best known for its open spaces and brilliantly preserved history of America's colonial past all within close proximity to Hanover homes for sale. Move here and you'll be within minutes of some of Virginia's top parks and rivers. Hanover is home to some of Richmond's best local restaurants. It's also a terrific place to raise a family, thanks in no small part to the many theme parks and the social calendar stuffed with family-friendly fun.

  • Ashland
Located 15 miles north of Richmond, Ashland is undeniably a big part of the area's flavor. This small town sits at the crossroads of Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, Charlottesville, and Norfolk, making Ashland homes for sale a popular choice for the career-minded. Historic main street will delight you with its shops, restaurants, and breweries – and don't forget the historic campus of Randolph-Macon College.

  • New Kent
New Kent attracts visitors from all over the United States for its world-class accommodations and amenities. Here, you'll find some of the region's finest golf courses, vineyards, and historic venues for weddings. At the confluence of three grand rivers, it is a breathtaking base from which to experience Virginia's great outdoors. Golf, tennis, hiking, fishing, and boating are all popular activities near New Kent homes for sale.

  • Henrico

  • City
The rich and diverse center of the RVA area is Richmond itself. It is packed with some of the leading art, music, and performance venues anywhere in the country along with the campus of the University of Virginia. Richmond is also a centerpiece of the craft brewery craze and has been home to dozens of America's greatest restaurants, many of which can still be found only here – where it all started.

  • Chesterfield
Chesterfield is framed by the James and Appomattox Rivers. Its southern border is defined by 3,000-acre Lake Chesdin. With a collection of more than 20 public parks and bursting with history everywhere you look, it is the kind of place where you feel like you can get away from it all – while still being a part of everything. Many choose Chesterfield homes for sale for that reason!

Get Your Home More Organized in 2022

Home Organization

The year has just started but there's still time to make a New Year's resolution for your household. Perhaps you could resolve to keep your home more organized! A good organizational scheme makes it easier to find what you need and tidy up when you're done for the day. Or if you're getting ready to list your home for sale, a well-organized home will show better, and be easier to get ready for prospective buyers.

So, how do you go about keeping things more organized in 2022? Our real estate agents have a few helpful tips.

  • Divide Your Fridge By Food Group
When your fridge is disorganized, you're more likely to misplace things until they spoil. An easy way to organize your fridge is to divide it into zones based on food groups. Keep fruits and veggies in the bottom drawers. Put your dairy on one shelf and your meats on another shelf. Drinks deserve their own spot, and you can put condiments on the door. Label your shelves if you think you need a reminder to put things back where they belong.

  • Buy Some Over-the-Door Organizers
Those plastic shoe organizers that hang over doors are good for more than just shoes. Put one over your child's bedroom door, and use it to store their small toys. Or, put one over your own bedroom door, and use it for belts and other accessories.

  • Gather Your Cleaning Supplies in One Spot
Do you have cleaning supplies under the bathroom sink, others in the kitchen, and still others in the basement? Get organized by consolidating them all into one cleaning supply storage area. This could be an extra cabinet in your laundry room or a shelf in your hall closet. Put the cleaning supplies you use most often in one bucket so you can grab the whole bucket and go.

  • Designate a Clutter Basket
Buy a large basket, and set it in one corner of your living room or hallway. When you find an item someone left out, put it in the clutter basket. Once a day, empty the clutter basket, putting these stray items back where they belong. This will help keep your home from getting too disorganized when life gets busy.

  • Put an Outbox by the Door
Put a box or a basket in your entryway, and use it to hold onto items that you need to take outside or to your vehicle. This will help prevent items from building up in the entryway and being forgotten again and again. It will also keep your entryway looking tidier for those last-minute visitors.

  • Swap Out Your Seasonal Clothing and Items
Gather up all of your warm-weather clothing and decor, and put it in tote boxes. Store it out of the way until spring comes again. This will help eliminate clutter, making more space for your winter items. Don't forget to declutter while going through your seasonal items as well!

Once you get your home more organized, you'll feel so refreshed and at ease. Contact us if you're still looking for Richmond homes for sale. We can guide you through the process and ensure you end up in a home you love.
